My interest in ceramics spans over many years. I started out taking ceramics in college and fell in love with it. After a twenty year detour in the plant growing industry, I went back to college and completed a degree in Ceramics from the University of Kansas.

  After graduation I set out to meet the challenge of crystalline ceramics. I first became aware of this process while researching art pottery from the turn of the nineteenth century. I was captivated by the beauty of the glaze. On one piece the crystals may look like flowers and on another they may look like match sticks. I love the unpredictability of the process, it keeps the fire of creativity burning within me.
